How to successfully optimize your Interior Design Business SEO
How can my interior design business appear at the top of Google search Search? How can we, as designers take control of our online presence and optimize our web traffic? In this article, I will share tips that will help you do just that.
Consistent content creation
Firstly, it’s important to consistently create content that will keep your audience engaged with your business. The easiest way to determine the kind of content that you will produce is to answer the burning questions that your ideal client would ask. Check out groups, such as Facebook groups, and write articles that answer the questions that your ideal clients are asking.
For example, if you are living in a particular area, you might want to write about houses on the market in that area and give ideas for inspiration or talk about their potential. What search questions are your ideal audience putting into Google? How can you address these questions.
The best way to improve your SEO is by ensuring you have relevant and beautiful content that other people want to share, pin, and link to. Make sure that you have quality images that people will want to link to and share.
Refresh your content
Update and refresh your content regularly. Google loves to see a website with fresh content. Makes sure when you are providing a website platform that you know how to update your site with fresh content regularly and you are prepared to produce this content. You can hire an SEO company to do this to a certain extent but I think it is important to have your own brand voice and blog posts are a good way to do this.
Ensure your website is optimised
The crucial thing that designers can do to optimize their website. Create a system that ensures that the backend of your site is taken care of. Ensure all photos are tagged with relevant meta tags, use alt text and consider keywords when crafting posts, descriptions, captions, and tags. By doing this Google will be able to scan and read your website making sure that you appear higher up on the rankings. Ensure all your images are optimised so that your page loads faster.
Make sure that your content is keyword-focused. Tag all of your photos with relevant keywords, and make sure to use these keywords across all content, including search engines such as Pinterest. It’s important to be consistent and use similar keywords to drive traffic to your site.
Don’t keyword stuff
SEO is a long game. There are no shortcuts now. You used to be able to keyword stuff- that is put a whole line of keywords into the meta tags etc However, Google now is too smart for this and knows to scan websites for ones that have long lists of searchable result terms. Google now looks for real, relevant content that answers questions. They measure how long people stay on your site. If someone visits your website to get an answer to a question, looks at your site and then immediately clicks off, Google knows and this will affect your rankings.
In conclusion
There is no real way to fake SEO anymore. Be consistent and relevant. Answer your ideal client's questions and you will not have to worry about your SEO. If your content is valuable, it will be discovered. Most website platforms have optimisation tools that you can use. Squarespace has it all built-in, saving you time, though other platforms have similar tools as well.
